Webinar

Audience:

This webinar is intended for juvenile court judges, referees, court administrators, clerks, and public & private child welfare agency staff.

Program Description:

Michigan Public Acts 8 & 9 of 2020 create new procedures and requirements to place children into qualified residential placements, including new judicial findings that must be made to allow a foster care case to receive federal title IV-E funding. The statutory changes are consistent with the federal Family First Prevention Services Act, which aims to reduce childrens’ unnecessary placement in residential facilities in favor of more family-like settings.

Guest Speakers:

  • Hon. Nancy Thane, Judge, Tuscola County Court Probate and Family Division
  • Sarah Goad, MSW, Manager, Foster Care Program Office, MDHHS
  • Tanya Morrow, Management Analyst, Court Services, State Court Administrative Office
  • Kelly Wagner, Director, Child Welfare Services, State Court Administrative Office
